In 1989 Mark Paigen, a river guide, envisioned sandals that would enhance performance while providing great fit and durability. Chaco® was born. Being a philanthropist as well as an outdoor professional, Mark was naturally concerned about the impact his business would inevitably have on the environment. Twenty-two years later, Chaco is proud to have earned a reputation of being an eco-friendly business that offers an ever growing diverse collection of footwear that is “Fit to Last™.”
