Disc Golf
You may be surprised by the number of disc golf courses in Alabama. There are 15 cities in Alabama listed in current course directories, with some of them featuring multiple courses. In all, there are 28 courses around the state to choose from. Check out this link to find the one nearest you:

Mountain High Outfitters currently has locations in Birmingham and Huntsville. Both of these cities have very active disc golf organizations. Each offers a way to learn more about local courses, find other players or enter tournaments. Here are the links for those organizations:

Alabama, UAH, and UAB all have very accomplished disc golf teams. At the 2010 Collegiate Disc Golf Championship held in April in South Carolina, the University of Alabama-Birmingham (7th), and the University of Alabama- Huntsville (13th) both finished in the top 20. UAB had two players place in the top 20 of the individual standings.
