*adjust for length of stay Shorts- bring khaki material as well as synthetics that will dry quickly for water sports. Pants- only one or two pair are necessary- some camps require long pants for horseback riding. T-shirts Sandals-Chacos work well for camp for boating/water sports Sneakers Flip flops for shower Socks Underwear Raingear Pajamas Bathing Suit
Fitted sheet and Twin sheet Sleeping Bag Pillow and Pillowcase Towels
Hat or Visor Sunglasses Flashlight and Batteries Favorite Book Journal Bug Spray Sunscreen Any medications- They will probably have you give them to the camp nurse. Stationary and Stamps Camera-disposables are good for kids Travel games or cards for down time Shampoo and Conditioner- Razor/Shaving cream for older girls
Carrying everything in a trunk or large rolling suitcase is ideal, many camps will tell you how high bunks are so that you can tuck luggage underneath. Put your name on stuff with a permanent marker because it all gets mixed up. This list is good for counselors too, just bring more of everything since you will be there all summer. Stacking drawers/organizers are better than a trunk and it will make you feel more at home.
