The expert staff at Mountain High Outfitters is experienced in a wide variety of outdoor pursuits, and one of the key features of the Mountain High Mission is offering insights and education on the most appropriate gear for any adventure.

1) Variety
Gregory, Deuter or Osprey packs? Big Agnes, MSR or Mountain Hardwear tents? Each piece of gear comes with an exclusive feature set, and having the opportunity to test those features in the field will allow you to make an informed decision regarding your future purchase. Our rental fleet includes some of the best gear available to date, including packs like the Osprey Aether 70 and tents like the Big Agnes Seedhouse 2.

2) Adaptability
Is your 85 liter pack overkill for an overnight outing? Are you wondering if your 2 person is still enough room for you and your son now that he’s bigger than you? One of the great things about our rental program is that we have a great selection that will allow you to experiment with different combinations of gear, fill in your existing gear set to address a special occasion or determine if an upgrade is a worthwhile investment.

3) Simplicity
Wondering how to maximize the comfort of your pack? Don’t want to waste time figuring out how to pitch a tent? The goal of our rental program is to make it easy for you to get outside and have a good time. Our staff will be happy to custom fit your backpack or walk you through the setup of your rental tent before you hit the trail. As a matter of fact, if you need help adjusting your old pack or would like to see what any of our new tents look like set up, come on in to Cahaba Village!

You may reserve your gear up to 60 days in advance, and pick up the items a couple of days before your trip. If there is any issue with returning the items by the end of the rental period, you are welcome to call for an extension. Your convenience is important to us.

Although we do not rent sleeping bags, we stock plenty of styles, sizes and price ranges for purchase.
